As the facility is used intensively during the summer season and is exposed to large variations in temperature and moisture load, the aim of the project was to map the extent of the damage, analyze the causes and propose measures to ensure continued safe operation and long-term function. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"gb-block-image gb-block-image-611fdd3f\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1125\" class=\"gb-image gb-image-611fdd3f\" src=\"https:\/\/www.invator.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Betongskador_Invator.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Betongskador_Invator\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.invator.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Betongskador_Invator.jpg 2000w, https:\/\/www.invator.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Betongskador_Invator-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.invator.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Betongskador_Invator-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.invator.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Betongskador_Invator-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.invator.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Betongskador_Invator-1536x864.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2000px) 100vw, 2000px\" \/>\n<figcaption class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-1de9fd1e gb-headline-text\"><em>The facility had extensive damage such as cracking, voids, water leakage and erosion.<\/em><\/figcaption>\n<\/figure>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Results<\/strong><br\/>The surveys showed that:<\/p>\n\n<p>The rapids had through cracks in the bottom plate and walls, probably from shrinkage and movements. The intermediate pool had voids under the slab as well as through cracks causing water leakage the structure has reached its technical life. <\/p>\n\n<p>The children&#8217;s pool had the most damage with voids, continuous cracks and undersized reinforcement (\u22056 mm c\/c 150 mm). The pool is recommended to be demolished and replaced. <\/p>\n\n<p>The southern inlet (pool and channel) had consistent cracks, voids and signs of active corrosion.<\/p>\n\n<p>The water tanks had weakened linings, cracks throughout and rusting of fixings.
